The founders of QLK wanted to create a firm big enough to be an industry leader, but small enough to provide unsurpassed attention to detail and a highly personalized approach. They wanted a firm without such a long list of clients that was inhibited in its search efforts because of "off limit" agreements. While we do have a select and impressive client list, it's not so large -- and never will be -- that our clients suffer.

As a privately held company, our only job is to find the best leaders for you. Publicly traded search firms have different priorities. The stock market demands that they deliver revenue and profit while controlling cost. The result is that many more searches are assigned per consultant, expenses are treated as "profit centers" and big bureaucracies take away the ability to customize searches for their clients. Because of our choice to remain a privately held firm, clients and candidates receive our undivided attention. They, not Wall Street, are our only priority.
